Alpha chimica is established at the school of Pharmacy at the University of Paris-South (Châtenay-Malabry) for the purpose of developing biomimetic catalyst technology, new chemical entities, and drug candidates. We have created human Cytrochrome P450 mimics for producing phase 1 metabolites in high yield. Among the advantages of our approach are rapid turnaround and high yield of prospective metabolites. Our customers gain better understanding and comprehensive evaluation of available pathways of biological oxidation. Alpha chimica’s clientele includes leaders in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, who rely on our skill and confidentiality.

Our biomimetic catalytic systems are based on metalloporphyrins, oxidant, co-oxidant and solvent medium.

How can we work for you ?

Offer 1: Screening stage

Only mass molecular and solubility of your compound are needed.

From your compound, several biomimetic catalytic systems will be used to generate phase 1 metabolites.

For this stage, we only require few milligrams of the compound and the delivery time is around five days. The resulting report contains HPLC/MS analysis for each product and conclusion for each reaction.

Offer 2: Optimization stage

Following the screening stage, we can optimize biomimetic reaction to enhanced transformation rate of desired metabolite(s).

We change experimental conditions; catalyst, associated metal, temperature, oxidant and solvents to perform the desired metabolite(s). 

For this stage, higher compound amounts are required and the delivery time is around ten days. The resulting report contains HPLC/MS analysis and conclusion for each reaction.

Offer 3: Isolating possibility

 3a) Following the screening and/or optimization stage, from the best biomimetic catalytic system, we can scale-up to grams scale.

We provide crude from which you can isolate each metabolite formed. 

For this stage, the amount of compound and the delivery time depend on the yield obtained previously.  

3b) We can also propose this service, our laboratory is well equipped; HPLC, HPLC/MS, Preparative HPLC, flash chromatography device. 

 Offer 4: Production and identification of metabolites

We can produce metabolite(s) and determine their structure by NMR 1D or 2D, ¹H, ¹³C, ¹⁹F, ³¹P, polarimeter, HPLC/MS/MS, GC/MS and elementary analysis.
